At the turn of June and July, a hundred Jewish cantors from many countries visited Poland. They are members of the Cantors’ Assembly. Aside from giving a concert at the Great Theater-National Opera and an appearance to mark the start of the construction of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, they also came to Oświęcim. They toured the site of the Auschwitz camp
The fourth edition of the Holocaust Teaching Summer School has been completed. The project is aimed at teachers, students, trainers, and leaders of non-governmental organizations from all over Poland that deal with the subject of the Holocaust.
After almost five years of efforts, it will be possible to set up the headquarters of the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust in the building known as the “Old Theater.”
Images from www.auschwitz.org may be used only in publications relating to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau or the activities of the Auschwitz Memorial.
