$15 Million to Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced in Cracow on Saturday that the United States will support the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation to the amount of $15 million (€12.2 million).

Several hundred residents of the Oświęcim area have gathered at the grave of the Soviet POWs in Brzezinka. The prayers in the spirit of reconciliation between Poles and Russians were an initiative by Museum Director Dr. Piotr M.A. Cywiński, Oświęcim starosta Józef Kała, and Oświęcim wójt Andrzej Bibrzycki.
