International Summer Academy in German (I level)
The International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust calls for enrolment to the sixth edition of the International Summer Academy in German, which will take place 18-24 August 2018 at the State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The seminar is addressed to teachers, educators, historians, employees of memorial sites and all those interested in the history of the II World War and the Holocaust. Under the programme, participants will learn the multi-faceted history of the Nazi Germany concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau and the functioning of the contemporary Memorial Site. In addition to the study visit, they will participate in a series of lectures, workshops, visit the Archives, Department of Collections, as well as Conservation Studios.
The participants will spend a day in Cracow, learning about the history of the city during the German occupation and the fate of Cracow Jews over the last few centuries.
All participants will receive certificates. The cost of participation in the seminar is € 500 and includes accommodation, meals and the programme. Participants must additionally cover the cost of insurance and transport to and from Oswiecim.A completed registration form along with a cover letter should be sent to the address firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 30 May 2018.
