MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU FORMER GERMAN NAZI
CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP

Expert support

The most important daily challenge for the several hundred people working at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial is preserving the historical space, protecting the memory of Auschwitz, and fulfilling the will of the Survivors by building a responsible and professional narrative about the history of this place.

The contemporary Memorial is a place of conservation, an archive as well as active research and educational center.

Over more than 70 years of the Museum's operation, innovative conservation solutions have been developed on a global scale. Many measures have been taken to improve the historical condition of the buildings, objects, and artifacts from the camp era. The analysis and study of archival documentation are ongoing, as is the development of innovative teaching methods about the history of Auschwitz and the Holocaust.

Experts from the Memorial provide substantive support during historical conferences, discussion panels, thematic contests, and other educational projects.
