Mieczysław Grabiński (1893-1960), diplomat, before World War II a Polish consul in Vienna, Munich and Zagreb, during the war a prisoner of the Dachau concentration camp. After the war he was the plenipotentiary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the American occupation zone in Germany. In 1949 he moved to London where he was the chairman of the International Committee of Political Refugees and a member of the National Council of the Republic of Poland.

The memoirs of Mieczysław Grabiński consists of three parts: his work the Consulate in Zagreb; arrest and imprisonment in Graz and Munich; stay in the Dachau concentration camp. The memoirs were written in the years 1943-1945 and published in 1946.
